The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) is a political foundation which is linked to the German political party "Christian Democratic Union (CDU)". Named after the first German chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany "Konrad Adenauer", we stand for fostering democracy and development. The KAS has more than 70 offices abroad, but here in Ghana the foundation concentrates on the following issues: 1.) Bringing forward economical and socio-political reforms 2.) Strengthening the role of the Parliament 3.) Promoting participation in local politics (decentralization) 4.) Integration of traditional structures into the modern state administration 5.) Promoting gender equality 6.) Promoting the Social Market Economy 7.) Promoting Human Rights, democracy and development The KAS cooperates with local partners in Ghana. We give workshops, seminars and conferences. In addition we conduct capacity building (training personell) and publish papers and reports, regularly.
